Terms of service

Welcome to Shopify! By registering for a Shopify account (as defined in Section 1) or using any of the Shopify Services (as defined below), you agree to the following terms and conditions (hereinafter referred to as the "Terms of Service").

For purposes of these Terms of Service, the terms "we," "us," "our," and "Shopify" refer to the applicable Shopify Contracting Party (as defined below in Section 13), and the terms "you" refer to an individual Shopify user (if registering for or using a Shopify Service as an individual) or the company that employs the Shopify user (if registering for or using a Shopify Service as a company), and any affiliated companies.

Shopify provides a comprehensive commerce platform where merchants can bring together all their business activities. This platform includes, among other things, various tools that enable merchants to build and customize online stores, sell across multiple platforms (including web, mobile, social media, online marketplaces, and other online locations ("Online Services"), and in person ("POS Services"), manage products, inventory, payments, fulfillment, shipping, business operations, marketing, and advertising, and connect with existing and potential customers. Each of these services offered by Shopify is referred to in these Terms of Service as the "Service(s)." Any new features or tools added to the current Services shall also be subject to the Terms of Service. Before you can register for a Shopify account or use the Shopify Services, you must accept all terms and conditions contained in or expressly referenced in these Terms of Service, including the Acceptable Use Policy (the "AUP"), the Shopify Privacy Policy, and, as applicable, the Supplemental Terms of Service for EU Merchants ("EU Terms"), the Shopify API License and Terms of Use ("API Terms"), and the Shopify Data Processing Addendum ("DPA").

Each Section includes a plain language summary in boldface type for easy understanding. These summaries are not legally binding. For a full understanding of what you are committing to, you should read the Terms of Service and any documents referenced in the Terms of Service.
